Advocacy Victories Impacting YPS

OSMA's government relations team spent the majority of the first six months of 2023 advocating for provisions in the state budget. We’re pleased to report that several key YPS advocacy priorities were passed and will be implemented over the next several months.

Promoting professional development and education, the OSMA's Young Physician Section (YPS) works to represent the unique interests of young physician members under age 40 or within the first 8 years of practice.

It is through organized medicine that I became passionate about advocacy with a focus on access to care issues. I was born and raised in a health care underserved area, and I have witnessed firsthand how difficult it can be for patients to get adequate and quality care. Throughout my medical training, I have been involved with the AMA and OSMA, and continue to lobby for our patients and our profession.
